Outdoor lights to brighten up your yard

Proper placement of outdoor lights helps to create a warm and welcoming effect to gather the people around in your yard – be it a family member or guest. There are a lot of ideas to decorate the yard with light perfect lighting effects which also helps in boosting the security to the outdoor area of your house.

With a great variety of lighting techniques available in the market, you can create a unique beauty outdoor. For instance, the accent lighting can be used to highlight the objects in the garden – such as the statue or tree. It helps in creating a dramatic effect. Try the different techniques like cross lighting to illuminate any object. Similarly, use the spotlights to highlight the features from the below, or hang lights to cast a wide light over a specific area. The gentle glow that is hidden in the trees or structure placed above creates a mimicking effect of a bright moonlight glow.

Another fascinating technique is trying to silhouetting by using low lights that are placed behind an object. It creates a bigger shadowed effect of the object with lights popping between the holes to give a dramatic. 

Columns, arches, and doorways are natural spots to include lighting outside can be highlighted to create a vivid lighting effect. Shadow casting can also be created by placing a small lamp kept at a low level to cast shadows behind the focal point.

A pool, pond and fountain in the garden can he decorate using submergible lighting to highlight the water flow to create a beautiful visual effect. Using coloured light would produce an even more decorative effect.  Walkway light fixed around the pond is a great way to jazz up the pond and can be functionally used. Use rope light around the pool to decorate it up.

Just as the pond walkway, use the placement lights along a sidewalk or hardscape path to creating a gentle illumination when people walk through the way.

Another functionally lighting décor is to use the motion or photovoltaic sensors, which can provide the light when you need it. Lighting up the stairs or even illuminating the entire staircase is also an effective way of lighting the space. Use the bullet lights through grass and bushes to brighten the pathways. Camouflaged lights in the shape of butterflies, flowers and other similar structures can be as decorative. 

Use the solar lighting or LED lights where ever possible to save on the electricity and money spend on lighting. To add different colouring lights, use the coloured glass or coloured paper lampshades to mix the different colours at a place.

There are various ways to create stylish lighting by mixing up different light effects at a place, instead of using the same kind of lighting technique at a place that gives a bland look. Try to play around with at least two or three different types of lighting to give the outdoor space some texture of lighting effects.
