Tips on how to install the Doors:
Make sure the door swings away from the light switch.
Fasten the hinge side of the Door Jam by removing one screw from the hinges and reinstalling a longer screw to fasten it to the 2×4. Do this for all three hinges, one screw only. Made sure the drywall is flush on both ends.
Check that it’s plumb to the opening. Also, make sure the top of the door is level. Close the door to ensure that the space between the door and the Door Jam is equal all around.
Install the Shims between the Door Jam and the 2×4 on the opposite side. Now put the first shim around 3 “below the floor and lock it in place. The second one should be where the Strike Plate is going to be. And the third one at the top corner. Now make sure that it is flush with the drywall and nailed in place. After everything is done, add the trim around it.
Installing the Trim:
Determine whether you want a flush or an off-set finish. If the finish is off-set, it should be around 1/8th-1/4 “based on your choice. After you’ve decided which measurement you want to use, calculate from the floor to the point you’ve selected. Now cut a 45-degree angle from the short to the long corner. The short corner is where the Trim was first marked. Create a mirror cut on the opposite side and install these two bits. To calculate the length of the top section, place the tape over the trim and weigh it around. This is going to send you the measurement from a medium to a long point. Next, cut it down and install it in place! Follow the same procedure on the other side of the house. These three bits are going to have a different length from the first one, so make sure you measure them again.
With DAP, fill some gaps and nail holes. When you’ve applied it, take a damp cloth and rub away any extra for a clean surface.
Now install the hardware and stand back to enjoy your crafts!
