 For many of us, until the kitchen and bathroom floor is not completely clean until it is scrubbed. When dirt and grime on the tile are left ignored, a hazy film or dirty grout starts popping up – which is the signal that your floor needs intense cleaning than the regular touch-ups or sweeping. 

Cleaning tiles is not a hectic task. Be sure to understand the techniques to a different type of tile. The cleaners and mops vary for various materials of tiles. The best way to clean the tiled floor is to understand the right method for your floor tile.

Be careful when choosing the cleaning agents like slate, granite, and marble flooring. Chemicals can erode the floor surface and damage the texture of the floor tiles. Chose the cleaning agents that can be used specifically for the kind of tiles on your floor.

Ceramic and porcelain tiles

For instance, ceramic and porcelain tiles are durable and are easy to be cleaned. Regular sweeping or vacuuming of the ceramic or porcelain floor stops the floor from getting dull due to sand and grit. The tile can be cleaned using a mild detergent and clean water. Use a rag or chamois type mop instead of a sponge mop as it pushes the dirty water into the grout lines and makes it tougher to clean.

Granite tile 

To maintain high-quality granite flooring proper and regular attention should be given to cleaning agents. Avoid using the harsh cleaners with a high pH level to clean the granite tiles as it causes discoloration on the granite tiles. Polishing the granite is a great idea to have a shiny granite surface.

Vinyl tile 

Vinyl tile is one of the easiest flooring tiles when it comes to maintenance as it can stand up to a lot of abuse even when it is used in a high-traffic floor of the house. Simple sweeping and moping the floor using water and vinegar solution. But ensure not to use the abrasive cleaner or scrub to clean vinyl tile.
